Many entrepreneurs view their first round of funding as the end game for their startup. They’re so excited by the prospect of “big money” that they don’t look at the long term implications of selling their soul.
Whatever your company does there is someone doing something fundamentally similar (from the perspective of a VC building a portfolio of companies). So, ceteris paribus, VC's will always invest in the management team that is willing to sign the worst contract. How you feeling about that termsheet now?

I am reminded of the most egregious use of VC money since boo.com burned 20 quid notes to keep warm in the winter. Worse than anything Webvan did. Probably more stupid than the dog commercials from pets.com. Yes, it is my infamous Xmass party story.
